Powerex Announces OSHPD Certification-Medical Applications

(March 13, 2014 – Harrison, OH) Powerex is happy to announce that the majority of our Medical Air and Laboratory Air Scroll systems have passed their seismic testing at a level of 2.5 g, the highest attainable level.

The certification number for our Medical Air and Laboratory Air Scroll systems is OSP-0380-10.

Our Medical Vacuum and Laboratory Vacuum Claw and Lubricated systems have also completed their seismic testing and we hope to receive our OSHPD certification number for those systems soon.

OSHPD (California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) certification includes a series of tests for the structural integrity of components, supports, etc. and requires that the functionality of all components be maintained in case of an earthquake. Even though OSHPD is mandatory and specific to the state of California, other states such as Utah, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina have also started looking into seismic requirements for their healthcare facilities.
